"The Excellence in Service"

Our Story

My name is Tim Welch. My career began in November of 1977, in a small town in Missouri called Bowling Green. I worked for the local undertaker there by the name of Harold Kirks. He was the ultimate professional who to this day is still my mentor.

After high school graduation Mr. Kirks secured me a position in St. Louis with the prestigious C.R. Lupton Undertaking Company now known as Lupton Chapel. The time spent at Lupton's turned out to be the defining time in my career. There I would truly learn the professional side of the undertaking business.

Following my graduation with academic honors from St. Louis College of Mortuary Science I served my internship with Griffin-Leggett-Healey & Roth in Little Rock. There I had the guidance and training from one of the greatest funeral professionals Arkansas has ever known, Jack E. Moseley Sr.

I then moved to Macon, Missouri and worked for a great man by the name of Al Carney, I spent five years in Macon before returning to my birth place of Hannibal, MO where I worked for a wonderful man by the name of Jimmy O'Donnell. Hands down the best people person I have ever known.

I returned to Arkansas and spent over 16 years with the Murry-Ruggles Funeral Home now called Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home of Arkadelphia.

On March 1, 2005 my wife Arlene and I opened the doors of Welch Funeral Home Inc. at 202 S. Fourth Street in Arkadelphia. A funeral home designed to meet the needs of all families in their time of need.

Over time I have become fascinated by the journey we take after the loss of a loved one. So much so that over 48 years later, I am still making that journey with families in their time of need. I am living out a lifelong dream that has eluded me for so many years until now. With my wife Arlene, and our children Dusty & Chelsea, owning our own funeral home is now a dream come true.

Our goal here is to offer every family that will allow us to serve them, the most caring, dignified, professional service, at the most affordable price.

We simply ask you for the trust and confidence of placing the care of your loved one in our hands, and we will in turn take care of them as if they were our own.
