Wilma Gail Hughes, age 70, of Whelen Springs passed from this life on Monday April 13, 2020 at her home. She was born on June 19, 1949 in Gurdon the daughter of the late James "Jim" and Myrtle Herron Wingfield. Gail was employed for several years at Baptist Medical Center in Arkadelphia. She was a member of East Whelen Baptist Church. Gail enjoyed fishing, camping, crocheting and spending time with her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Joe Hughes, one brother, Tommy Wingfield, one sister, Patsy Herron and one great grand daughter, Raylynn Reigh Hughes.

Gail is survived by her sons, Billy Joe Hughes (Donna) of Whelen Springs, Daniel Marion Hughes (Sharon) of Gurdon, Tommy Ray Hughes (Debbie) of Gurdon, JW Cooper (MaKisha) of Whelen Springs, fifteen grandchildren, BJ Hughes (Rissa), Jimmy Joe Hughes (Amber), Daniel Hughes, Bryce Hughes, Elijah Cooper, Railey Ellis, Gracie Malcom, Sam Hughes (Stephanie), Andrew Gonzales (Ana), Madison Cary, Kylee Cooper, Remington Ellis, Rustin Ellis, Ashleigh Pennington (Joey), Jason Redfearn, eleven great grandchildren and one sister, Dalene Forgey of Haughton, LA.

Pallbearers are BJ Hughes, Jimmy Joe Hughes, Bryce Hughes, Sam Hughes, Madison Cary and JW Cooper. Honorary Pallbearers are Andrew Gonzales and Daniel Hughes.
