Waldo Sligh, age 70, of Gurdon, passed from this life on Monday, July 2, 2007, at Baptist Medical Center in Arkadelphia. He was born December 16, 1936, in Amity, the son of the late Walter Lee & Clara Mae Bean Sligh. Waldo was a retired uranium miner in New Mexico & former truck driver. He was a Baptist and a veteran of the National Guard. Waldo was preceded in death by one sister, Bertie Faye Neel. Waldo is survived by one daughter Carrie Poag of Brentwood,TN. and one son Terry Lee Sligh of Benton, AR. Three sisters, Mary McAnally of Curtis, Sue Howard of Hot Springs & Wanda Thomason of Amity. Two grandchildren Charles Bailey Poag & Jacob Poag. Funeral services are 10:00 AM Thursday, July 5, 2007, at Welch Funeral Home with Rev. James Guthrie officiating. Interment in Jones Cemetery at Amity. Family hours are 4 to 6 PM Wednesday. Pallbearers are Johnny Calley, Bob Calley, Larry Thomason, Keith Neel, Kyle Rogers & John Rogers.
