Vernell Hendrix Dixon, age 93, of Delight, passed from this life on Friday, February 5, 2016 at her home. She was born on April 10, 1922 , the daughter of the late Floyd and Bradie Sparks Hendrix. Vernell was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Christ . She enjoyed flowers and spending time with her grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Vernell was preceded in death by her husband, William Paul Dixon, two brothers and four sisters.

Vernell is survived by her daughter, Betty Sue McAnelly ( Gary ) of Delight, one son, William D. Dixon of Arkadelphia, two grandchildren, Greg Carpenter (Sarah) and Kristy Howard (Scott), all of Delight, and six great grandchildren, Andrew and Abigail Howard, Elizabeth McBride, Kylan and Kaleb Humphrey and Noah Muse, all of Delight.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, February 8, 2016 at Antoine Cemetery with Brent Alexander officiating.

Visitation will be from 2:00 to 4:00 PM on Sunday at Welch Funeral Home in Arkadelphia.
