Terry Lee
Gillaspie
Aug 31, 1963 — Jun 8, 2020
Belton
Terry Lee Gillaspie, age 56, of Belton, TX, passed away peacefully on Monday June 8, 2020, at Encompass Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Round Rock Texas. Before she departed this life, She made friends among the healthcare and rehabilitation staff, who came to visit, pray with her and sing hymns. Terry was born to Sherry Rogers and John Cole on her father's birthday, August 31, 1963, in Fairbanks, Alaska. During her childhood, she lived in several places including, Singapore, Arizona, Louisiana, and New Mexico. Terry graduated from Maxwell High School in Maxwell, NM in 1981. She later went on to earn her nursing degree while working several jobs and raising her oldest child. Terry worked long shifts in some very large and busy emergency rooms, but that did not stop her from raising her family and making friends everywhere she went. When the stress of emergency room life began to take a toll, she ventured into another career path as a Para-legal. Combining her Para-legal training with her emergency room experience, she was soon teaching emergency room personnel how to preserve evidence while treating victims of accidents and violence. Nursing eventually lured her back to work at the Fort Hood Army base in Killeen, TX. Terry discovered Scentsy more than 10 years ago and quickly became a Scentsy Consultant, traveling the country to set up booths in home and garden shows, boat shows, and wherever there was a weekend event to sell her Scentsy warmers, wax and other items. She is preceded in death by her grandparents, John and Dorothy Cole, and Clayton "Jack" Rogers and Dorothy Rogers Taylor, and two uncles, Mike Rogers and Robert Cole.
Terry is survived by her mother, Sherry Lippard of Delta, CO, her father John L Cole Sr. (Tricia) of Arkadelphia, two brothers, John L Cole Jr. of Orcas, WA, and Daniel W. Taylor (Marlena) of Albuquerque, NM, four children, Cassidy Byrd (Robert) of Lubbock, TX, Christopher Cole (Ariana) of Las Cruces, NM, Kelsey Turk (Jon) of Liberty Lake, WA, and Trentin Cole of Belton, TX, several grandchildren, and one great grandchild and a host of other extended family.
Terry was loved by family and lots of wonderful friends made through family, nursing, and Scentsy all around the world. She loved anything Disney and also loved adventurous (and sometimes dangerous) activities. For her 46th and her fathers 65th birthday, they went sky-diving at Hillsboro, TX, and five years later, they repeated the trip with another skydive. These two trips were without incident; however, she frequently came home from her adventures with broken bones or dislocated joints, but that never stopped her from going on her next adventure!
