Shirley Ann (Wright) Holland was born on a farm in 1939 in the Mt. Zion community of Arkadelphia, Arkansas, and died June 11, 2024, in her home, just yards from that same property. She was 85 years old.  Shirley grew up with her parents (John Larkin Wright and Opal Kathrine (Fortner) Wright), her brothers (Calvin Benjamin (CB) Wright and Ross Everett Wright) and her sister (Mary Sue (Wright) Thomas. Her home and family life taught her to love the cooking and homemaking that made up so much of her time. She graduated from Arkadelphia Senior High School in 1956 and loved meeting regularly with those lifelong friends until recently. Shirley attended Ouachita Baptist University in preparation for her accounting and management career. A career she spent in the employ of businesses like: Arkansas Best Freight, Tectum Inc., and Shepherd Auto Sales, to name a few.

Her marriage to Charles Neal Holland in 1963 and the ministry they would have to the city of Arkadelphia was the highlight of her life. Charles and Shirley have been active members of Park Hill Baptist Church for more than 50 years. During that time Charles was the Minister of Music for over 42 years and Shirley was his right hand in support.  Shirley was a loving and caring mother. She had one son, Shannon Neal Holland of Arkadelphia.

Always a doer and a caregiver. If you needed something done, or someone had a need– Shirley was often there with a smile and a hand.  She was active in many roles within both the church and the community serving others in multiple ways. She loved her Lord, her family, and others and she will be greatly missed while we are apart.

Survivors include her husband of sixty-one years, Charles Neal Holland of Arkadelphia, one son, Shannon Neal Holland (Shannon) of Siloam Springs, one grandson, Taylor Neal Holland (Maddison) of Rogers, one great-grandchild, Wesley Neal Holland of Rogers, and one sister, Mary Sue (Wright) Thomas of Gurdon.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, June 15, 2024, at Park Hill Baptist Church with Revs. Erby Burgess and John McAnally officiating.

Visitation will be from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Saturday at Park Hill Baptist Church.

The interment will be in Richland Cemetery.
