Shirley Odell Gatling Harrison, age 88, of Sparkman, passed from this life on Sunday, February 24, 2008 at St. John s Place Nursing Home in Fordyce. She was born on October 19, 1919 in Holly Springs, the daughter of the late Lester and Josephine Gatling. Shirley was a devoted mother and housewife and attended the Methodist church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Jesse C. Harrison, her brother, J. L. Gatling, and her sister, Betsy Jane Morris. Shirley is survived by her daughter, Eva Jane Harrison, her son, Stanley Harrison, her sister, Exie Shaw, and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM on Tuesday, February 26, 2008 at Macedonia Methodist Church near Princeton with Rev. James Harris officiating. Interment will be in Macedonia Cemetery.
