Shirley Mae Byrd, age 85, of Arkadelphia, passed from this life on Friday, February 8, 2008, at Baptist Medical Center in Arkadelphia. She was born in Wheaton, MN on July 27, 1922 the daughter of the late Lloyd A. & Ina DeWitt Potter. Shirley was a food caterer and a Baptist. She was preceded in death by one son, Lester E. Perry, and one step-son, Dennis Byrd. Shirley is survived by her husband, William H. Byrd of Arkadelphia, one son, James D. Perry of Arkadelphia, one step-son, Richard Byrd of Reno, NV, one step-daughter, Marilyn Grant of Reno, NV, three grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Memorials may be made to Shriners Hospitals for Crippled Children, Office of Development, 2900 Rocky Point Drive, Tampa, FL 33607-1460. No services are planned.
