Roy Gene Taylor, age 57, of Curtis, passed from this life on Friday, November 6, 2015 at Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock after suffering a heart attack. He was born on October 19, 1958 in Sparkman, the son of Louis Wesley "Buck" and Betty Jo Gentle Taylor. Roy was a 1978 graduate of Arkadelphia High School and held a business management degree from College of the Ouachitas. He was retired from Scroll Technologies and enjoyed fishing, hunting and computer surfing. Roy was preceded in death by his father. He is survived by his mother, Betty Taylor of Arkadelphia, two sons Jeffrey (Danielle) Taylor and Joel (Carol) Avery, all of Horn Lake, MS, one sister, Donna (Byron) Taylor of Arkadelphia, two half sisters, Lois Johnson of Spring. TX and Charlotte Taylor of Montgomery, TX, one half brother, Raymond Taylor of Spring, TX and five grandchildren, Blake and Wesley Taylor and Clayton, Layla and Caleb Avery, all of Horn Lake, MS. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, November 13, 2015 at Welch Funeral Home in Arkadelphia with Rev. Martin Jones and Charles Jackson officiating. Interment will be in Center Ridge Cemetery in Gurdon. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 PM on Thursday at the funeral home.
