Roy Ralph Springer, Jr., age 54, of Donaldson, passed from this life on Sunday, May 11, 2014 at his home. He was born on November 25, 1959 in Red Oak, OK, the son of Roy Ralph and Wilma Lee Teel Springer. Roy was the water treatment operator at the Arkadelphia Water Department. He was preceded in death by his father. Roy is survived by his mother, Wilma (Dale) Miller of Casa, his son, Anthony Rea Springer of Arkadelphia, step-son, John McBride of Donaldson, two step-daughters, Angela Starkey of Donaldson and Kim Walker of Arkadelphia, three brothers, Leon Springer of Ashdown, Ron Springer of Jay, OK and Rick Springer of Tulsa, OK, and four grandchildren, Logan Starkey of Donaldson, Kyle Walker of Arkadelphia, Hailey Starkey of Donaldson and Adam Rea Springer of Arkadelphia. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, May 16, 2014 at Welch Funeral Home in Arkadelphia with Leon Springer officiating. Visitation will be from 9:00 AM until service time. Interment will be in Southfork Cemetery in Gurdon. Pallbearers are Dale Box, Wes Lemons, Ryan Arnold, David Long, Cory Johnson, William Harris, Armando Munoz and Chad Russell. Honorary pallbearers are The Men and Women of the Arkadelphia Water and Sewer utilities. Memorials may be made to St. Paul AME Church, 1505 Caddo Street, Arkadelphia, AR 71923.
