Rex Carroll Tipton, age 77, of Fordyce, passed from this life on Sunday, January 22, 2017 at Dallas County Medical Center in Fordyce.  He was born January 17, 1940 in New Edinburg, the son of the late J.O. and Gladys Cheshier Tipton.  Rex owned and operated his own logging business and enjoyed fishing in his free time.  He was a member of Temple Baptist Church in Fordyce.  He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Bill Tipton.

Rex is survived by his former wife Shirley Tipton of Fordyce, one daughter, Kim Gray of Hot Springs , one grandson, Zach Gray of Hot Springs , and one sister, Janice Chapman of Fordyce.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, January 25, 2017 at First Assembly of God Church in Fordyce with Bro. Jeremy Horton officiating.

Interment will be in McCoy Cemetery at New Edinburg.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until service time at the church.

Pallbearers are Casey, Danny and Randy Turner, Jack Gray, Scott and Brandon Chambers.

Honorary pallbearers are Dr. Nutt, Paul McFarland, Larry Pierce and Larry Hammond.
