Orland Francis Lang, age 80, of Arkadelphia, passed from this life on Saturday, February 2, 2008 at Baptist Medical Center in Arkadelphia. He was born on July 18, 1927 in Boulder, Colorado, the son of the late Francis D. and Ina Raymond Lang. Orland worked as a logger and was a proud member of the Merchant Marines in the 1940 s. He enjoyed wood working, fishing and the outdoors. Orland was a member of First Baptist Church in Arkadelphia. He was preceded in death by two daughters, Bonnie Lang McKiernan & Nancy Sue Lang, one sister, Vada Plum, and three brothers, Dwayne, Howard and Billy Lang. Orland is survived by his wife, Alma Barentine Lang of Arkadelphia, his daughter, Denise Darlene Lang of Arkadelphia, his son, Jeffrey A. Lang of Red Bluff, CA, one sister, Doris Erickson of Forest Hill, CA, and two brothers, Dennis Lang and his wife, Joane and Kenny Lang and his wife, Judy, all of Auburn, CA., ten grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, 623 Pine, Arkadelphia, AR 71923. No services will be held. As he requested, Orland s ashes will be scattered in the mountains of California. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Welch Funeral Home.
