Nell Kathryn Gober Gaines, age 90, of Beirne, passed from this life on Wednesday, January 7, 2015 at St. Vincent's Hospital in Hot Springs. She was born January 4, 1925 in Prescott, the daughter of the late Jim and Eva Garrett Shaver. Nell enjoyed being with her family and friends , gardening and fishing. She was a member of Beirne Baptist Church. Nell was preceded in death by her first husband, John Gober, one grandson, Jonathan Gober, one brother, Charles Glenn Shaver, and one sister, Veda Moorehead. Survivors are her husband, James LeRoy Gaines of the home, three sons, James Hubbard (Roynelle) Gober of Prescott, Gary Lee Gober of Beirne and Hoye Lynn (Angela) Gober of Beirne, one sister, Barbara Stephens of Gurdon, eleven grandchildren and twenty three great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, January 10, 2015 at Beirne Baptist Church. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Friday at Welch Funeral Home. Interment will be in Brown Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Berne Baptist Church or Brown Cemetery Fund. Final arrangements are entrusted to The Welch Funeral Home of Arkadelphia.
