Nadine Halcombe Hixon, age 85 of Arkadelphia passed from this life on Friday, April 8, 2011 at Twin Rivers Health and Rehabilitation Center in Arkadelphia. She was born in Kirby on April 24, 1925, the daughter of William C and Isbelle Halcombe. Nadine was a wonderful wife, mother and neighbor and will be greatly missed. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bernie W. Hixon. Nadine is survived by four children, Curtis W. Chunn (Carol) of Louisiana, John Fred Chunn (Betty) or Arkansas, Steve Howard Chunn (Cheryl) of Arkansas and Debra Ann Chunn of Arkansas, three step children, Bernie William Hixon, Jr. (Terry) of Wyoming, Kathryn Hixon Gruszecki (Robert) of Idaho and George David Hixon (Toni) or Oregon. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, John Fred Chunn, Jr. of Arkansas, Cody Hixon of Florida, Aubrianne E. Powell of Louisiana, Jessica Pipkin of Arkansas, Danny Chunn of Texas, Sonya McDowell of Arkansas, Bobby McAllister of Arkansas, Richard Milton of Texas, and fourteen great grandchildren. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, April 16, 2011 at DeGray Cemetery with Rev. David Young officiating. Visitation will be from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM on Saturday at Welch Funeral Home in Arkadelphia. Pallbearers will be Jim Golden, Allan Golden, Shawn LaFevers, Mike LaFevers, Don Russell and Jerry Garner.
