Michael R. Maroney, age 68, of Arkadelphia, passed from this life on Thursday October 15, 2020 at Baptist Health Medical Center in Arkadelphia. He was born on December 9, 1951 in El Dorado, the son of the late Gordon and Myrtle Waldrop Maroney, Jr.  Mike was a graduate of Smackover High School and a graduate of Henderson State University.  Mike was the retired Chief of Police at Henderson State University.  He enjoyed hunting, golf and leather working in his free time.

Mike is survived by his wife, Lora Hendrix Maroney, and one brother, Gordon Maroney III.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, October 20, 2020, at Welch Funeral Home with Bro. David Young officiating.

Due to COVID restrictions 50 people maximum capacity, masks required and you must social distance.

Mike will lie in state at Welch Funeral Home from 3:00 to 6:00 PM on Monday.

Interment will be in Rest Haven Memorial  Gardens.
