Melvia Marie Wright, age 87, of Arkadelphia, passed from this life on Wednesday, March 10, 2021, at her home.  She was born January 17, 1934, in Arkadelphia, the daughter of the late Charlie Roy and Alma Smith Dixon.  Melvia was retired from Baptist Medical Center and Arkadelphia High School cafeterias as a baker.  She was a member of Mt Zion Baptist Church.  Melvia enjoyed baking, grandchildren and caring for her family and her home.  She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Roy Dixon.

Melvia is survived by her husband, CB Wright of Arkadelphia, whom she married on March 11, 1955, two sons, David Wright (Rhonda) of Arkadelphia and Ricky Wright of Arkadelphia, one sister, Betty Fite of Hot Springs, two brothers, Charles Dixon of Waxahachie, TX, and James Dixon and of Arkadelphia, two grandsons, Tyler Wright (Leah) of Austin, AR and Dustin Wright of Arkadelphia.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, March 13, 2021, at Mt Zion Baptist Church with Bro. Ray Franklin and Bro. Hal Dixon officiating.

Visitation will be from 9:00 am until service time at Mt Zion.

Interment will be in Rest Haven Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers are Tyler Wright, Dustin Wright, LD Wright, Drew Wright, Shannon Holland and Randy Quillen.
