Mary Leona Daniel Thornton, age 72, of Arkadelphia, passed from this life on Thursday, February 9, 2006 at Baptist Medical Center in Arkadelphia. She was born on September 9, 1933 in Bearden, the daughter of the late Moses and Sarah Lucy Seale Daniel. Mary was a homemaker and a member of Third Street Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Thornton. Mary is survived by three nieces, Linda Daniel of Hot Springs, Carole Sue Daniel Kimble of Magnolia and Beth Daniel Larson of Orlando, FL, three nephews, Ronnie Daniel of Hot Springs, Eddie Daniel of Bearden and Tommie Daniel of Magnolia and one great-nephew, Brian Daniel of Arkadelphia. Funeral services will be at 10 AM Saturday, February 11, 2006, at Welch Funeral Home in Arkadelphia with Rev. Greg Lathem officiating. Interment will be in Chapel Hill Cemetery in Sparkman. Family hours will be from 8 AM Saturday morning until service time. Pallbearers will be Brian Daniel, Ronnie Daniel, Eddie Daniel, Tommie Daniel, Raymond Kimble and Earl Johnston.
