Mary Catherine Smith, age 79, of Texarkana, passed from this life on Monday, February 2, 2015 at Christus St. Michael Hospital in Texarkana. She was born on October 14, 1935 in Fort Smith, the daughter of the late Avery and Nellie Smith. Mary was employed at K-Mart and the Women's & Children's Shelter and attended the Pentecostal Church. She enjoyed gaming, bingo and yard sales. Mary was preceded in death by two brothers, Jerry and Joe Smith. Mary is survived by two daughters, Deborah (Tom) Crofton of Fouke and Pamela Sue (David) Hulsey of Okolona, two sisters, Elaine McCauley of Prescott and Wilma Malcom of Okolona, five brothers, Pat, Marvin, Jackie and Randal Smith of Okolona and Melvin Smith of Indiana, five grandchildren, Dana McKa, Mary Ruth Hulsey, Diana Lynn Hulsey, Allison May and Charles Saunders and ten great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 3:00 PM Friday, February 6, 2015 at Smyrna Methodist Church with Rev. Charlie Williams officiating. Interment will be in Smyrna Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Thursday at Welch Funeral Home in Arkadelphia. Pallbearers are Mike Smith, Ricky Smith, Charles Saunders, Mike McCauley, James McKa and Kent Malcom.
