Lorene Mayhue, age 87, of Arkadelphia, passed from this life on Monday, August 4, 2014 at Baptist Medical Center in Arkadelphia. She was born December 2, 1926 in McGehee, the daughter of the late William F. and Velma Averett Wilkerson. Lorene was a homemaker and attended Mt. Zion Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Billy James Mayhue, two brothers, Francis and Paul Wilkerson, and one sister, Ethel Minchew. Lorene is survived by two daughters, Marilyn (Randy) Duncan and Gail (Del) Hancock both of Arkadelphia, one son, James (Azelia) Mayhue of Arkadelphia, two sisters, Carolyn Efird of Malvern and Joy Hardage of Bismarck, eight grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, several cousins, nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM Thursday, August 7, 2014 at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens with Rev. Brad West and Rev. Charlie Williams officiating. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Wednesday at the funeral home Memorials may be made to American Heart Association 7272 Greenville Ave Dallas, TX 75231. Pallbearers will be Brad Mayhue, Chad Russell, Jeremy Mayhue, Josh Bradford, Benjamin Williams and Adam Bell. Final arrangements are entrusted to The Welch Funeral Home of Arkadelphia.
