Lester Ernest Carr, age 78, of Manning, passed from this life on Tuesday, December 15, 2009 at Courtyard Gardens Nursing Home in Arkadelphia. He was born on August 31, 1931 in Houston, TX, the son of the late Lester William and Viola Campbell Carr. Lester was a retired plumber and a Baptist. He was a United States Army veteran of the Korean conflict. In addition to his parents, Lester was preceded in death by his brother, J. D. Carr, and his sister, Patsy Tanner. He is survived by his wife, Katherine Ford Carr, of Manning, three daughters, Kathy Manes of Arizona, Deborah Tillman of San Leon, TX and Wanda Eason of Huntsville, AL, three sons, Mickey Carr of San Leon, TX, Douglas Carr of Manning and William H. Carr of Fayetteville, one sister, Ruby Mae Keegan of Austin, TX, three brothers, Donald Ray Carr of Dallas TX, Byron Carr of Palason, TX and Jerry Carr of Crockett, TX, twelve grandchildren and twenty-four great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, December 21, 2009 at Manning Baptist Church with Robbie Ledford officiating.
