Lena Sapphire Tidwell Carter, age 85, of Friendship passed from this life on Friday December 28, 2018 at Courtyard Gardens in Arkadelphia. She was born February 19, 1933 in Fouke the daughter of the late Charles and Agatha Oswald Nottingham. Lena was a member of Ouachita Baptist Church . She enjoyed sewing, ceramics, painting and most of all spending time with her family. Lena is preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, Ben Tidwell and Horace "Bo" Carter and several brothers and sisters.

Lena is survived by her children, Charles Tidwell (Sandy) of Brighton, Co, Toni Page (Russell) of Sparkman, Lynn Reynolds (Bill) of Bismarck, her step-children, Mike Carter of Sparkman, Russell Carter (Terri) of Sparkman, Matt Carter (Sarah) of Foreman, 13 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and one brother Manley Nottingham (Martha) of Belvidere, IL.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Monday December 31, 2018 at Ouachita Baptist Church in Sparkman with Bro Carley Davis, Lee Denton and Ken Key officiating.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 PM until the time of service at the church.

Interment will be at Delamar Cemetery in Manning.

Pallbearers are Lee Denton, Gregory Denton, Ken Key, Jamie Daniell, Caleb Tidwell and Mike Denton.
