Katherine Maurece Carter Daniels, age 80, of Gurdon, passed from this life on Sunday, June 17, 2007, at Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock. She was born September 21, 1926, in Hollywood, the daughter of the late Joe & Mary Elizabeth Thompson Carter. Katherine was retired from Firestone Rubber Company in Prescott and was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Gurdon. She was preceded in death by her husband, Woodrow Daniels. Katherine is survived by one daughter, Betty Lou Thomas of Gurdon, one son, Burt Wilson Daniels of Gurdon, eight grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild and one sister, Louise Kinnaird of Kermit, Texas. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, June 20, 2007 at Welch Funeral Home in Arkadelphia with Rev. Greg Lathem officiating. Interment will be in Carter Cemetery. Family hours are 6 to 8 PM Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
