Katherine Evelyn Hardin Phelps Bolinger, age 73, of Shreveport, passed into the loving arms of God on Wednesday, August 21, 2013 at Willis-Knighton Medical Center in Shreveport, LA. She was born June 10, 1940 in Salinas, CA, the daughter of the late Clarence and Thelma Hardin. Katherine, a thirty year resident of Shreveport, was a generous and faithful servant of our Lord Jesus Christ and a long standing member of First Baptist Church of Shreveport. She was preceded in death by one brother, Wayne Hardin, and her son, Joseph Lawrence Phelps. Katherine is survived by her daughter, Cheryl Lynne Phelps of Shreveport, one sister, Joann Roy of Shreveport, two nieces, LaDonna Bamburg and her husband Tony Sr, and Davonna Andrews, five great nephews, Caden and Austin Andrews, Jessie, Alex and Tony Bamburg, Jr. Graveside services will be held at 10:30 AM Saturday, August 24, 2013 at Jones Cemetery at Brown Springs with Bro. James Calhoun officiating. No visitation will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, 543 Ockley Drive, Shreveport, LA, 71106.
