Obituary

Johnie Paul Long, age 69, of Arkadelphia, passed from this life on Tuesday, May 31, 2016 at his home. He was born on February 1, 1947 in Evening Shade, the son of the late Thomas Paul and Claudie Qualls Long. Johnie was a John Deere mechanic having worked for Farm Town in Arkadelphia and TAC Equipment in Camden . He was a United States National Guard veteran and enjoyed fishing. In addition to his parents, Johnie was preceded in death by his brother, Tommy Long, his sister, Mary Walton and his brother in law, Jimmy Walton.

Johnie is survived by his wife, Wanda Jean Long, his son, David Long (Lisa) of Arkadelphia, his brother, Bob Long (Peggy) of Rison, two sisters, Donna Rolins (Dallas) of Bethesda and Carolyn Galloway (Marty) of Floral and one grandson, Justin Long of Arkadelphia.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, June 2, 2016 at Macedonia Cemetery with Robert Long officiating.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Wednesday at Welch Funeral Home in Arkadelphia.

Pallbearers will be Ray Cook, Cliff Burroughs, Justin and David Long, Dennis Green and Perry Smith.

Honorary pallbearers will be Sewell Daniell, James Bradshaw, Kendall Hunter, Donny Denton and Benny Byars.

Memorial may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital , P. O. Box 1000 , Dept 142 , Memphis , TN 38101-9908 .
