John C. Van Fossan, age 80, passed away at home on August 3, 2009 after a short illness. A resident of Arkadelphia since 1975, he is survived by his wife, Kaye Van Fossan of the home, three sons, Steve (Laurie) Van Fossan of Texas, Lee Van Fossan of Florida and Chris Van Fossan of Georgia, two sisters, Ann Lacy of Oregon and Kathleen Van Fossan of California, two stepsons, Rev. Charlie Williams and Andy Williams, both of Arkadelphia, seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren. John was a retired cattle rancher and paint horse breeder. His favorite past time in recent years was sitting on the deck overlooking his horse herd at Caddo View Farm listening to Dixieland Jazz. Memorials may be made to the Humane Society of Clark County, 627 Walnut Street, Arkadelphia, AR 71923. No public services are planned.
