John Luther Jones, age 84, of Arkadelphia, passed from this life on Wednesday, August 14, 2019 at his home.  He was born November 7, 1934 in Arkadelphia, the son of the late John Luther and Irene Penny Jones Sr.  John was a 1951 graduate of Banning High School in Wilmington, CA and a 1962 graduate of Long Beach State.  He was a United States Army veteran.  John was retired from Pacific Optical in Riverside, CA as an Optical Engineer.  He attended Third Street Baptist Church and was active in many church activities.  John enjoyed old radios, antique cars and reading in his free time.  He was preceded in death by his parents, and one sister, Sue Bloomfield.

John is survived by his wife, Karen Jones of Arkadelphia, one son, Phillip Jones of Fayetteville, and one daughter, Patricia Jones (Alan Ross) of Roseburg, OR.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM Monday, August 19, 2019 at Welch Funeral Home with Bro. Greg Lathem officiating.

No visitation is planned.

Private interment will be in DeGray Cemetery.
