John Mark
"Johnny" Adair
Apr 2, 1944 — Apr 29, 2025
Caddo Valley
John Mark "Johnny" Adair, age 81, of Caddo Valley, passed from this life on Tuesday, April 29, 2025, at his home. He was born April 2, 1944, in Fort Smith, AR, the son of the late Robert and Irma Lee Casey Adair. Johnny always said that he felt closest to God when he was on the water. Days spent on Lake Greeson - when the sun was shining, the weather was warm and the fish were biting - were some of his favorite times. He was a great Dad and Pop Pop, instilling his deep love of the outdoors in his children and grandchildren. Weekends were often filled with camping, fishing, water-skiing, and searching for arrowheads
Johnny's life-long career and love of working on vehicles began at a young age, starting with basket-case motorcycles and mail-order go-carts. This grew into a lifelong career, eventually leading him to start his own business, Adair's Automotive. Known for his honesty and fairness, he earned a reputation as the man in town who could fix your vehicle when no one else could. As much as he enjoyed working on cars, it was clear that he cared even more about the people who drove them. Whether you needed an oil change, a good fish fry tip, or just someone to talk to, Johnny was always there when you needed him most. Johnny was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Robert Waymond Adair.
Survivors include his brother Gene Adair (Leslie) of Knoxville TN, daughter Melinda Crunk (Bill) of Hendersonville TN, two sons Mark L. Adair and Marty Adair (Natalie) both of Arkadelphia, eight grandchildren, Jack Evans (Amy), Kailee Howell (Jessie), Kara Kieran (Skyler), Mark Walker Adair, Katlyn Peters (Thomas), Danielle DeMarzo, Elizabeth Adair, and Colby Adair and seven great-grandchildren.
Honorary pallbearers are Gene Banks, Elton Buck, Bob Murphy, Tommy Neel, and Chad Rogers.
We would like to express our gratitude to Janice Chine for giving Johnny's faithful companion, Allie a loving home.
