Joe Wyndol Smart, age 82 of Okolona, passed from this life on Sunday, April 26, 2015 at Arkansas Hospice in Hot Springs. He was born on June 12, 1932 in Okolona, the son of the late James and Clemie Wingfield Smart. Joe was a barber for many years and then retired as a small engine mechanic. He graduated from Glendale High School and was a United States Army veteran of the Korean War. Joe married Betty Fielder in 1996. He was an avid dancer, enjoyed gardening, hunting and fishing and attended First United Methodist Church in Gurdon. Joe was preceded in death by his daughter, Debbie Smart and his brother, Jimmy Smart. Joe is survived by two daughters, Cathy (Robert) Chunn of Okolona and Cindy Wagner of Seattle, WA, one step-daughter, Hollie Fielder of Gurdon, seven grandchildren, Terra (Kevin) Smith, Skyler Bryant, Teresa (Tommy) Pollock, Elijah (Elizabeth) Bryant, Jessie (Rick) Stuckey, Christina (Sean) Gutierrez-Patterson and Rachell (Mike) Parke, thirteen great grandchildren, two brothers, Bill (Millie) Smart of Arkadelphia and Jerry Smart of Windover, NV, three sisters, Mable (late Harold) Stapleton of Glendale, OR, Rose (late Jay) Shepherd of Glendale, OR and Judy Sligh of Arkadelphia, one step granddaughter, Mandy (Mike) Wilson and two step great grandchildren. Graveside services with military honors will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, April 30, 2015 at Center Ridge Cemetery with Bro. James McCain officiating. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Wednesday at Welch Funeral Home in Arkadelphia. Memorials may be made to Center Ridge Cemetery Fund, c/o Janet Purifoy, First State Bank, P. O.
