Jimmie Ray Smith, age 74, of Arkadelphia, passed from this life on Monday, March 16, 2020, at Arkansas Hospice in Hot Springs.  He was born April 7, 1945, in Arkadelphia, the son of Thelma Jean Murrell.  Jimmie was a retired welder for Aluma Weld and Ouachita Boats.  He was a United States Army veteran.  Jimmie enjoyed woodworking in his free time.  He was preceded in death by his parents, and his wife, Terrye Smith.

Survivors are two daughters, Missy Jones (Toby Hutchins) of Glenwood, and Dawn Herrin of Arkadelphia, one sister, Patsy Nichols of Arkadelphia, three grandchildren, Jessica Helmick (Dustin) of Hope, Stormy Reynolds (Brenton) of Arkadelphia, and Gary Ray Herrin of Arkadelphia, and six great grandchildren.

Private family services will be held.
