Altha Jean Jenkins, age 62, of Arkadelphia, passed from this life on Monday, November 28, 2016 at Baptist Medical Center in Arkadelphia. She was born on September 15, 1954 in Waterproof, Louisiana , the daughter of Alfred Leon and Bessie Lular Brown Sanders. Jean was a homemaker and a member of First Assembly of God Church in Arkadelphia. Her hobbies were crocheting and fishing and she always enjoyed spending time with her family. Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Bruce Jenkins, and her mother, Bessie Sanders.

Jean is survived by three daughters, Jennifer (Robbie) Smith of Gurdon, and Connie Jenkins and Tasha (Brian) Ripper, all of Arkadelphia, two sons, Chris (Candias) Diehl of Arkadelphia and Jody Diehl of Gurdon, her father, Alfred Sanders of Arkadelphia, six brothers, Dennis (Mary) Butler of Houston, David (Mary), Eddie (Tammy), Charles (Joyce) and Jimmy (Katie) Sanders, all of Gurdon and Michael Sanders of Arkadelphia, fourteen grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, December 2, 2016 at Welch Funeral Home in Arkadelphia with Bro. Nathan Rogers officiating. Interment will be in Bethlehem Cemetery in Gurdon. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Thursday at the funeral home.
