J.D. Johnson, age 79, of Hot Springs, passed from this life on Saturday, March 28, 2015 at Arkansas Heart Hospital in Little Rock. He was born June 19, 1935, in Friendship, the son of the late Jeff Davis and Susie Duncan Johnson. J.D. was a retired Pilot and Flight Engineer with Capitol Airways and Flying Tigers. He enjoyed boating, traveling and riding Harley Davidson motorcycles. J.D. was a United States Navy veteran. He was preceded in death by one son, Jeffery Gordon Johnson, three brothers, Orlin, Melvin and Elvin Johnson. J.D. is survived by his wife, Betty Jean Johnson, one daughter, Robin (Russell) Forbes of Capitola, CA, one brother, Bill Johnson, two sisters, Melva Sue Hester and Velma Bussey, three grandchildren, Will, Nick and Matt A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, April 4, 2015 at Welch Funeral Home in Arkadelphia.
