James Ronnie Hughes, age 69, of Arkadelphia, passed from this life on Friday, April 9, 2021, at his home.  He was born December 26, 1951, in Newport News, VA the son of the late James Calvin and Juanita Frost Hughes, Jr.  Ronnie was a 1970 graduate of Arkadelphia High School and attended Henderson State University.  He was a contractor and musician.  He enjoyed music, singing, horses and cooking in his free time.  Ronnie was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors are two children, Blake Hughes (Amy) of Arkadelphia and Ronda Shay Hodges (Ricky) of Social Hill.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM Friday, April 16, 2021, at Welch Funeral Home.

Memorials are suggested to the Kidney Research Foundation of your choice.

Masks are required to attend services at our facility.
