The Joneses farmed in the DeGray area between moves to California, where they took up residence in Wilmington in 1946. Irene had various jobs, including working at a tuna cannery and as a nurse s aide in a hospital. Their marriage later ended and Irene married Orben Stenquist in 1959. The two of them worked together in a series of businesses, eventually moving to Rogue River, Oregon, where they lived until Orben s death in 1971. Irene returned to Southern California, living near her son and his family, until making her home near her daughter in Rogue River in 1987. In later years, she enjoyed visits with family, dancing, board games and caring for two successive poodles, both named Penny.
