Henry Alfred Hammonds, age 60, of Gurdon died on Wednesday, August 15, 2007 at St. Joseph s Mercy Health Center in Hot Springs. He was born on September 30, 1946, in Vaden, the son of J. D. and Mamie McClure Hammonds. Henry was a truck driver for Antoine Hardwoods and a member of Sycamore Church. He was preceded in death by his father. Henry is survived by his mother, Mamie Hammonds of Gurdon, his wife, Karen Self Hammonds of Gurdon, one daughter, Cyndi Taylor of Texarkana, TX, three sons, Butch Gray of Friendship, Jerry Hammonds of Sparkman, and Dustin Self of Farmersville, TX, four brothers, William and Junior Hammonds, both of Gurdon, Lewis Hammonds of Camden and Donnie Hammonds of Harrison, and seven grandchildren. A private interment will be held at Easley Cemetery. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, August 18, 2007 at Sycamore Church with Rev. James McCain officiating.
