Helga Emily Smith, age 79, of Friendship, passed from this life on Tuesday, January 25, 2022, at her home.  She was born October 13, 1942, in Schotten, Germany, the daughter of the late Hienrich and Paula Becker Mayer.  Helga was a retired housekeeper with Baptist Medical Center in Arkadelphia.  She was a member of the Ladies Hospital Auxillary.  Helga was a member of Taylor Missionary Baptist Church.  She was preceded in death by her parents, three grandchildren, Amy Hancock, JJ Smith and Lydia Newman.

Survivors are one son, James Smith (Cindy) of Delight, one daughter, Connie Loy (Mike) of Caddo Valley, one sister, Margaret Mertz of Germany, and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Private family services are planned.
