Glenda Jean Currey, age 77, of Gurdon, passed from this life on Wednesday, June 20, 2018 at Baptist Medical Center in Arkadelphia.  She was born July 26, 1940 , in El Dorado, the daughter of the late James and Melrose Abram House.  Glenda was  a member of Red Springs Baptist Church .  She was a homemaker, retired from Henderson State University and was a DSP for Group Living.  Glenda enjoyed reading, and working in her flower garden in her free time.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her step father, Clarence Clark, her husband, William Currey, and one son, Christopher Currey.

Glenda is survived by three daughters, Kathleen Rutherford (Chuck), Kelly Blanton (Jeff) both of Gurdon, and Shelly Watters (Matt Nordine) of Arkadelphia, eleven grandchildren, Brian and Evan   Rutherford,  Emily, Macey and Alyssa Blanton, Tyler, Will and Jesse Watters, and Christina, James and Jedd Currey, seven great grandchildren, and one sister, Corine "Pete" Weiss and her husband Jim of Alabama.

A visitation will be held from 2:00 to 4:00 PM Saturday at Welch Funeral Home in Arkadelphia.

Interment will be in Decipher Cemetery in Gurdon.
