Gertrude Lee Echols, age 87, of Arkadelphia, passed from this life on Tuesday, December 15, 2020, at Courtyard Gardens Health and Rehabilitation Center in Arkadelphia.  She was born January 9, 1933, in Delight, the daughter of the late Dudley and Jesse Ross Lee.  Gertrude worked at Hollywood Vassarette and later Munsingwear as a seamstress.  She was a member of United Pentecostal Church of Friendship.  Gertrude enjoyed quilting, gardening and hunting in her free time.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, John Henry Echols, sister, Dorothy Whitten, two brothers, James Lee and Glen Lee.

Survivors are one son, John Wayne Echols (Jackie) of Arkadelphia, four sisters, Ruth Smith of Arkadelphia, Lou Ivy of Lono, Ann Lofton of Texas and Gladys Pennington of Texas, three brothers, Robert Lee of Texas, Joe Lee  of Indiana and Don Lee of Arkadelphia, two grandchildren, Jonathan Page Echols of Little Rock and Dustin Coy Echols of Benton, five great grandchildren, Eli and Mollie Echols of Little Rock and Collin Echols of Benton, Issac Nathaneal Paul and Elizabeth Grace Paul both of Arkadelphia.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, December 18, 2020, at Gilchrist Cemetery at Friendship with Rev. Dewayne Smith officiating.

No visitation is planned.
