Geraldine Wanda Fryar, age 63, of Arkadelphia, formerly of Mount Ida, went to be with her Lord, surrounded by her family, on Thursday, February 16, 2006, at Montgomery County Nursing home in Mount Ida. Wanda was born May 6, 1942, in Bokoshe, OK., the daughter of the late Floyd & Grace Byrum Scantling. Wanda was a machinist, a member of the Eastern Star and a member of Whelen Springs Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lenard Buddy Fryar and one sister Carol Sue Brown. Survivors are one son, Lenard Len Fryar Jr. & his wife Anissa of Arkadelphia. Two daughters, Vivian Green & her husband Jerry of Mt. Ida, & Patty Davis of Mt. Ida. Grandchildren, Haylee Fryar, Raven Davis, Hannah Fryar, Buddy Davis, Trace Fryar & Brody Davis. One brother, Charles Scanling of Mt. Ida. Four sisters, Patsy Vanderpool of Bloomer, AR., Barbara Brown of Mt. Ida, Joyce Marrow of Hot Springs & Sharon Simpson of Benton. A host of nieces & nephews. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Monday, February 20, 2006, at Whelen Springs Baptist Church with Revs. Lenard Len Fryar Jr, & Jonathan Malone officiating. Interment will be at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens in Arkadelphia with Revs. John H. Watt & Ronnie Noles officiating. Family hours are 6 to 8 PM Sunday at Welch Funeral Home of Arkadelphia.
