Ervin Allen, 80, of Arkadelphia, Arkansas made his peaceful transition on January 28, 2008. He was born March 12, 1927 in Vaden, Arkansas to Rev. Oliver B. Allen & Ida (Lee) Allen, who preceded him in death. One brother, Lincoln Allen, of Los Angeles, California also preceded him in death. Ervin Allen was a faithful member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church and sang in the church choir until his health failed him. Ervin Allen leaves to mourn his passing Two (2) brothers: Rev. John T. Allen of Ashdown, Arkansas & Robert Earl Allen of Detroit, Michigan; five (5) nieces, eight (8) nephews, sixteen (16) great-nieces & nephews and twenty- nine (29) great-great-nieces & nephews and a host of relatives and friends. Family hour will be held Friday, February 1, 2008, at 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Welch Funeral Home, 202 South 4th Street, Arkadelphia, Arkansas. Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 2, 2008, at 11:00 a.m. at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, 1600 Caddo Street, Arkadelphia, Arkansas 71923.
