Emma Laverne Floyd, age 78, of Arkadelphia, passed from this life on Tuesday, August 5, 2008, at her home. She was born November 21, 1929, in Caney, the daughter of the late Thomas Allie & Ethel Chancellor Burris. Laverne was employed by Wal-Mart of Arkadelphia for nineteen years. She was a Baptist and was preceded in death by her first husband Delter Mann.

Laverne is survived by two sons, Ken Floyd and his wife Candice of Benton & Keith Floyd of Little Rock. One daughter, Linda Robbins and her husband Matt of Vinemont, AL. Two sisters, Evelyn Conant and her husband Ross of Arkadelphia & Shirley McKin of Arkadelphia. Nine grandchildren, Ashley, Justin, Veronica, Bryson & Connor Floyd, Courtney, Nathan, Benjamin & Mark Robbins.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, August 8, 2008, at Welch Funeral Home with Bro. Charles Hargett officiating. Interment in Hickory Grove Cemetery.

Family hours are 6 to 8 PM Thursday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers are Jimmy Cook, Tim Howell, Stacy Howell, Frank Sharpe, Richard McKim & Randy Hathcock.
