Edward E . "Gene" Mitchell, age 87, of Graysonia, passed from this life on Monday February 8, 2021, in Little Rock. He was born on March 6, 1933, in Little Rock the son of the late George and Pearla Milks Mitchell. Gene previously worked as a foreman for West Tree Service. He enjoyed worshipping Christ his Saviour, singing, playing guitar, games with family and fishing in his free time. Gene is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and five sisters.

He is survived by his wife of sixty years Fannie Mae Bradford Mitchell, two sons, Jason Mitchell (Caroline) of Amity,  and Justin Mitchell (Sara) of Mena, two daughters, Ramona Alpizar (Hartzell) of Mission Viejo, CA, and Kendra Smith (John) of Arkadelphia, two brothers, Clifford Mitchell (Selma) of Fairfield Bay, and Charles Mitchell (Doris) of Amity, one sister, Letha Watkins-Earls (Grady) of East End, eleven grandchildren, Mark Alpizar (Joanna), Jon Alpizar, Elisa Onorato (Mike), Brandon Hill, Daniel Hill, J. D. Smith, Ethan Mitchell, Carly Mitchell, Laci Mitchell, Maddox Mitchell, Nicholas Mitchell, and four great grandchildren, Sonia Alpizar, Carlos Alpizar, Brayden Hill and Christopher Hill.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
