Edward Allen Gates, age 54, of Arkadelphia, died on Tuesday, May 29, 2007 at Town and Country Nursing Home in Minden, LA. He was born on March 23, 1953 in Mechanicsburg, PA, the son of Donald and Doris Gates, Sr. Ed was a United States Marine Corp veteran and a member of New Life Church. In addition to his parents, Ed is survived by one son, Jonathan Gates, one sister Patricia Herneisey and three brothers, Don Gates, Jr., Barry Lee Gates and Thomas Eugene Gates. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, June 2, 2007 at Welch Funeral Home in Arkadelphia with Rev. Martin Jones, Don Gates, Jr. and Steve Willingham officiating. Interment will be in Golden Cemetery. No visitation will be held. Pallbearers will be David Runyan, Preston Jones, Keith Runyan, Larry Rivas, Jack Digby and David Smith.
