Doyle Ray Powell age 82 of Gurdon, passed from this life on Wednesday, March 16, 2011 at Arkansas Hospice in Hot Springs. He was born May 23, 1928 in Point Cedar the son of the late Leland and Lucy Wade Powell. Doyle was a retired farmer and a member of First United Methodist Church of Gurdon. He was preceded in death by two brothers Willard and Leonard Powell, two sisters Elvie and Vera Glover. Doyle is survived by his loving wife of sixty seven years Patsy Jane Murphy Powell, one daughter Jackie Herron of Gurdon and one son Jimmy (Debbie) Powell of Gurdon, three grandchildren Tina Posey of Sparkman, Ashley Powell of Springfield, MO and Kevin Powell of Little Rock, four great grandchildren Tyler, Austin, Halle and Jayce Posey all of Sparkman. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, March 19, 2011 at Rose Hedge Cemetery at Gurdon with Bro. Greg Burks officiating.
