Douglas Ray Shell, age 69, of Arkadelphia, passed from this life on Thursday, May 7, 2020, at Baptist Medical Center in Arkadelphia.  He was born March 11, 1951, in Imperial, CA, the son of the late Hill and Pearlene Melton Shell.  Doug was a 1971 graduate of Imperial High School.  He enjoyed wood and metal working, gardening, and he enjoyed all animals.  Doug would spend several hours each day taking care of all the critters, large and small, that called his yard their home.  He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Denton and Roy Shell, and one sister, Anna Kelly.

Doug is survived by his wife of forty-seven years, Carolyn Fendley Shell of the home, one son, Jackie Shell (Tam) of Arkadelphia, two brothers, Jim Shell of Melbourne, AR, and Wendell Shell (LaVonne) of Tucson, AZ, two sisters, Elvonna Macritchie (Ed) of Oregon and Bobbie Shell of Tucson, AZ.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, May 11, 2020, at Brushy Cemetery with Mike and Brian Fendley officiating.
