Doris Ann (Rucker) Tucker, age 73, of Sparkman, passed from this life on Tuesday, July 1, 2008, at St. Vincent s Infirmary in Little Rock. She was born January 3, 1935, in Sparkman, the daughter of Johnny Granville & Lois Opal Launius Rucker. Doris was a homemaker, a Wal-Mart Associate for 8 years and a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband of forty five years J.D. Tucker, her mother Lois Rucker & two great grandchildren.

Doris is survived by her father & step mother, Granville & Annie Rucker of Sparkman. One son, Sammy Tucker & his wife Lisa of Fordyce. Two daughters, Opal Taylor and her husband John Clark of Sparkman & Rose Clayton & her husband Rick of Crossett. Two brothers, Johnny & Jerry Rucker of Sparkman. One sister Deloris Dickey of Sparkman. Seven grandchildren, Jessie & Jeremy Taylor, David & Anthony Clayton, Andrea Martin, Jacob & Rachel Tucker. Ten great grandchildren. Numerous nieces & nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, July 3, 2008, at Shady Grove Baptist Church in Sparkman with her son Sammy Tucker, Bro. Marvin Launius & Bro. Kevin Moss officiating. Interment will be in Holeman Cemetery by Welch Funeral Home of Arkadelphia.

Family hours are 6 to 8 PM Wednesday at Welch Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Jeremy & Jessie Taylor, Jacob Tucker, David & Anthony Clayton, Todd, Mark & Tracy Rucker & Robert Franks.

Honorary pallbearers are Joy Holeman, Barbara Stewart, Josephine Manning, Doris Lewis, Mamie Ruth O Neal, Marjorie Flemming & Betty Wilkins.
