Dewayne Purifoy, age 74, of Friendship, passed from this life on Monday, November 16, 2020, at CHI St. Vincent Hospital in Hot Springs.  He was born on April 10, 1946 in Gurdon the son of the late Hayes Webster and Lucille Jester Purifoy. Dewayne was skidder operator for Jester Logging. He served in the Army Reserves. Dewayne enjoyed NASCAR, music, westerns, Harley-Davidson motorcycles, cars and playing guitar in his free time.

Dewayne is survived by his wife of thirty eight years, Brenda McMahan Purifoy, three sons, Gary Purifoy (Sandy) of Gurdon, Tyler Purifoy (Sarah) of Donaldson, Beau Purifoy (Katie) of Donaldson, one daughter, Deann Purifoy (Jeff) of Gurdon, one brother, Edsel Purifoy (Phyllis) of Arkadelphia, one sister, Rhonda Stephen (Randy) of Hot Springs, eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 PM  Thursday, November 19, 2020 at Welch Funeral Home.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM  Friday at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Friendship with Vidal Martinez officiating.

Pallbearers are Todd Massey, Zeke Lankeford, Brady Purifoy, Trent Purifoy, Vernon McMahan and Blake Williams.
