Darrell Lee Scott, age 68, of Arkadelphia, passed from this life on Monday, October 1, 2018 at Arkansas Hospice in Hot Springs .  He was born February 22, 1950 in Arkadelphia, the son of the late George Washington and Rosie Cobb Scott.  Darrell was a retired lead backhoe operator for Garney Construction Company.  He was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church and attended Arkadelphia Holiness Tabernacle.  Darrell enjoyed fishing, hunting, wood crafting and dirt work in his free time.  He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Lloyd Scott and Willie Scott, and two sisters, Joyce Langston and Catherine Gordon.

Darrell is survived by his wife, Brenda Gail Wilson Scott of Arkadelphia, one daughter, Belinda Gail (Joshua Kyle) Tygart of Hernando, MS, one son, Darrin Lee (Deana Darline) Scott of Bismarck, one sister, Doris (Daryl) Love of Arkadelphia, two brothers, Cecil (Christine) Scott of Hot Springs, and Glen (Barbara) Scott of Arkadelphia, seven grandchildren, Gage Scott, Lane Scott,  Brooke (Frans) Pienaar, Kaley Gunter, Laci Scott, Kylie Tygart and Braiden Tygart, two great grandchildren, Levi and Van Pienaar.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM Monday, October 8, 2018 at Mt. Olive Baptist Church with Abdias Cervantes and Stan Rogers officiating.

Visitation will be held from 2:00 to 4:00 PM Sunday at Welch Funeral Home.

Interment will be in Golden Cemetery .
