Eugene Wingfield, age 70, of Arkadelphia, passed from this life on Sunday, April 10, 2011 at Arkansas Hospice in Hot Springs. He was born March 21, 1941 in Okolona, the son of Samuel Dale & Mildred Wilson Wingfield. Eugene was retired from the Arkadelphia Fire Department after forty four years of service, and served twenty two years in the Army National Guard. He was a member of Beaton Methodist Church. Eugene was preceded in death by his mother, Mildred Wilson Wingfield, and his sister, Evelyn Cash. He is survived by his wife Paula Looper Wingfield of Arkadelphia, two sons Brian and Mark Wingfield both of Arkadelphia, two grandsons, Hunter and Garrett Wingfield, his father Dale Wingfield of Arkadelphia, two sisters, Frances Hickman of Caddo Valley and Linda Taylor of Arkadelphia. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday, April 13, 2011 at Welch Funeral Home with Bro. Gary Hardage and Bro. Bobby Looper officiating. Interment will be in Beaton Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Tuesday at Welch Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be members of the Arkadelphia Fire Department. Honorary pallbearers will be Bob Coates, Wendell Wade, Dwayne Kitchens, Kenneth Burton, Steve Williams, Chandler Williams, Bo Cash, Kenny Taylor and Randy Land.
