Charles Albert Sorrells, age 76, of Delight, passed from this life on Thursday, November 27, 2014 at Howard Memorial Hospital in Nashville. He was born September 26, 1938 in Alpine, the son of the late Henry and Dixie Rinkle Sorrells. Charles was a long haul truck driver. He enjoyed fishing, camping, mechanic work and spending time with his grandkids. Charles was a veteran of the United States Marine Corp. He was preceded in death by his wife, Patty Faye Sorrells, one granddaughter, Michelle Lee Sorrells, two brothers, Delmar and James Oatsie Sorrells and two sisters, Flora Jackson and Dorothy Killingsworth. Charles is survived by one daughter, Deborah (Billy) Jackson of Murfreesboro, one son, Darrell (Mona) Sorrells of Murfreesboro, one sister, Martha Helen (Andrew) Davis of Pearcy, three grandchildren, Jacob Matthew Sorrells, Billy Jackson III and Jonathan Andrew Jackson all of Murfreesboro. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Tuesday, December 2, 2014 at Trinity Missionary Baptist Church in Murfreesboro with Rev. Steve Franklin officiating.. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Monday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Roy Cemetery at Murfreesboro with military honors. Pallbearers are Billy Jackson, John Jackson, Chris Jackson, Alfred Sorrells, Dillon Vaught and Austin Vaught. Memorials may be made to Trinity Missionary Baptist Church or The Alzheimer's Foundation.
