Charles
Kuhn
Sep 28, 1933 — Dec 23, 2019
Gurdon
Charles D. Kuhn, 86, formerly of Gurdon, Arkansas, went to be home with his Lord and Savior on Monday, December 23, 2019. Charles, son of the late Earl and Louise Kuhn, was born September 28, 1933 in Gurdon. Charles is survived by his four children: Terri Ferguson; Leslie Taylor and husband Jerroll; Joe Kuhn and wife Debbie; and Randy Kuhn and wife Sherry. He is also survived by a brother, Foy Kuhn and wife Macel, of Alexander, and a sister, Linda Vinson and husband George, of Fort Smith. He leaves behind his beloved grandchildren: Whitney, Kelsey, Felicia, Blair, Hannah, Jon, Jennifer, Jeremy, Jerroll, and Blake, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, great-grandchildren, and longtime friends. In addition to his parents, Charles was preceded in death by his sister, Wanda Guthrie, and brother, Kenneth Kuhn.
After serving in the Korean War with the U.S. Airforce, he spent 31 years working on the Missouri Pacific Railroad. Those who knew Charles will remember him for his love of the outdoors, hunting and fishing on the Little Missouri river, and growing enough vegetables in his garden to feed all of Gurdon. You could usually find Charles watching the horses at Oaklawn, playing cards with family, or cheering on the Arkansas Razorbacks, although he didn't do much of that this past season. He was happiest with his children and grandchildren gathered around his living room telling them stories, whether about his time in Korea or his memories with his beloved Grandma and Grandpa Horton. He will be greatly missed, but his family cherishes a lifetime of memories with him and takes comfort in knowing that he is reunited with all those he loved that passed before him.
A celebration of Charles' life will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday, December 26 th at Red Springs Missionary Baptist Church. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, December 27 th at Rose Hedge Cemetery in Gurdon, with Tommy Overby officiating.
Final arrangements are entrusted to The Welch Funeral Home of Arkadelphia. Visit www.welchfh.net to sign the guest book.
